Do you take insurance?

I do not work directly with health insurance companies, but I can give you a monthly statement that lists our session dates and fees (Superbill). You may be able to submit this to get reimbursed if your plan includes out-of-network providers.

You may also be able to use funds from your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) for our sessions.

I offer a limited number of lower fee, sliding scale spots and a 15% discount to public school teachers and those who work in non-profit agencies. Please inquire and we can discuss further.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept cash, check or electronic payment via Paypal or Venmo. Payment is due at the time of the session.

Do you offer phone or on-line video sessions?

Yes, I am able to offer phone or video sessions. I use a HIPAA-compliant, confidential telemedicine platform for video sessions.

What is your cancellation policy?

My cancellation policy is 48 hours in advance of our appointment. If you do not cancel within 48 hours, you will be charged the full fee for the session.

How many sessions of therapy will I need?

There is no set time that people are in therapy. Some people benefit from short-term therapy while others benefit from being in therapy longer. This is a topic that we can discuss as we work together to see what feels right for you.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Your attendance (or lack of attendance) and the content of your sessions in therapy is strictly confidential.

The only exceptions to the confidentiality policy are if a client is making credible statements that they will inflict physical harm on themself or another person, or if there is information that a minor, elderly or disabled person is being abused or neglected.

I’ve never been to therapy- what can I expect?

Therapy should be a safe and confidential space for you to be yourself. That being said, it’s completely normal to feel nervous in the first session. We will work in collaboration to help you express yourself and explore any parts of your life that you want to change.

Therapy is not a quick-fix solution to your problems, so it’s good to know that it will likely take some time to see progress on your goals.

How do I know if you are the right therapist for me?

I offer a complimentary 20 minute introductory call so that we can get to know each other. Beyond the introductory call, the best way to know how you feel is to come for one session.

I encourage you to listen to your intuition to know if I am the right therapist for you. I am open to any questions you have about my experience or therapeutic style.
